Zoom Coaches Briefing

TWO WEEKS BEFORE EVENT

One representative from each program should attend one of the Zoom call briefings. Important information regarding the event will be discussed. Zoom call details will be sent.

All events take place at the Minneapolis Hilton.

7 am to 8 pm - REGISTRATION, STORE & TICKET BOOTH OPEN

3RD FLOOR - RED WING

Coaches check-in once with DX to collect updated competition information and gifts. Individuals competing in the All American and/or Performer of the Year events do not need to check-in.

Pre-ordered admission tickets will have a separate line for easy pick up.

Store closes for pre-order tickets on January 17th, 2025.

8 am to 5 pm - COACH/TEACHER LOUNGE

3RD FLOOR - BOARD ROOM 3

Lunch provided daily. Details posted in the lounge each day.

MASTER CLASSES - Take advantage of the free master classes scheduled for all registered attendees and coaches. Dancers should wear dance attire, appropriate shoes, and bring a water bottle to class. Coaches/teachers may attend. This is closed to the general public.

8 am to 8:45 am - MASTER CLASS #1

2ND FLOOR - ORCHESTRA / 9 yr. & Younger

2ND FLOOR - MARQUETTE / 10-14 yr.

3RD FLOOR - BALLROOM / 15+ yr.

While the kids are taking master classes, we’ve planned a social mixer for coaches. DX staff will be on hand too. Coffee, breakfast items and fabulous mimosas provided. We’d love to get to know all the coaches of these amazing athletes.

10 AM - DOORS OPEN FOR TEAM COMPETITION

10:30 am to 5 pm - SOLO PRESENTATIONS

3RD FLOOR - BALLROOM

All American (AA) and Performer of the Year (POY) candidates perform a 1:30 min. solo in front of a live audience while being judged. Bring backup music with you!

11 am to 2 pm - NEW - COLLEGE AVENUE

3RD FLOOR - FOYER

Don’t miss out visiting booths represented by colleges and universities while in Minneapolis. This is a great opportunity to learn the ins and outs of their dance program and what’s needed to make the team.

11 am to 6 pm - ALL AMERICAN INTERVIEWS

3RD FLOOR - DIRECTORS ROW 3

Candidates sit down with judges for a private interview and should wear a team warmup, costume, or interview attire. The choice is yours. Candidates who score the highest in the interview section of All American competition will recognized and receive prizes and scholarships. Dancers should report 10 minutes before their scheduled interview.



6 pm - TEAM COMPETITION

3RD FLOOR - BALLROOM

Awards for Friday Team Performances will be included during Saturday’s sessions.





8 PM to 8:45 pm - “PURPLE PARTY” (11 & younger)

2ND FLOOR - SYMPHONY III

Dig out your purple gear and get ready for the DX Purple Party on Friday night. This event is exclusive for directors, teachers, coaches, dancers and their families. Come ready to dance the night away. The DX Purple Party is a fantastic way to break loose and unwind. The Purple Party will be split by age groups.

No feather boas please.

9:15 to 10 pm - “PURPLE PARTY” (12 & older)

2ND FLOOR - SYMPHONY III

9:15 to 10 pm - NEW -COLLEGE MIXER

2ND FLOOR - SYMPHONY IV

This elite mixer is for college and university dancers only.

SATURDAY - January 25, 2025

Duets or trios perfrom in front of a live audience. A one and a half minute [1:30] maximum time limit strictly enforced. There is no minimum time requirement.

Awards take place during the Awards program later that evening during the Gala.

2 pm TO 3 pm - GRADUATING SENIOR REHEARSAL

LOCATION TBD

All are invited to participate in a fun, easy-to-learn, short routine and perform at the final awards program on Sunday.

Dancers must provide their own performance outfit of anything purple on top and black on the bottom.

DX will have options at our store or bring something from home.

2 pm - AWARDS #1

Join DX paparazzi at our fun-filled, interviews and photo op before the Gala. Dress in your best and don’t forget your shades.

The Awards Gala is open to everyone. No ticket required. We are encouraging all attendees to dress up for this special event (prom dresses encouraged).
